$90,000 Raised Toward Affordable Homeownership!
Earlier this month, Skagit Habitat for Humanity gathered with our incredible community to unmask the path to affordable homeownership at our annual Raise the Roof Gala & Benefit Auction! The night was a huge success, and together we raised $90,000 to help 11 more hardworking Skagit families achieve strength, security, and self-reliance through shelter.
The event proceeds will be used to purchase building materials for our projects across Anacortes and La Conner! Your generous donations help keep construction costs low and, as a result, our Homebuyers’ mortgages affordable.
Hosted at the Swinomish Casino & Lodge, several guests arrived in Venetian carnival-themed attire, and we loved seeing everyone’s unique masks and costumes! Before the program began, guests tested their luck at the human slot machine, posed for pictures in our photo booth, entered our raffles, and bid in the silent auction.
After dinner was served, our live auction began with exciting experiences, including getaways to Leavenworth, the Oregon Coast, and Mexico, as well as flight experiences with Cascade Aviation and two loads of gravel generously donated by Arne Svendsen Trucking! The night concluded with 50/50 Heads or Tails Raffle, Raise the Paddle, and raffle prize drawings.
Our favorite part of the evening was presenting our 2025 Impact Video which dived into our Homebuyers’ stories and the impact safe, affordable housing will have on their families. We are honored to have our Homebuyers: Rocio, Tarra, and Dawn share their stories and a renewed sense of hope with the opportunity to build and buy an affordable home with Skagit Habitat for Humanity.
