Applications are Open Through Friday, August 29th.

Opportunities to apply for the Skagit Habitat for Humanity Homebuyer Program only open a few times a year. We are accepting applications (which can be found below) from now until Friday, August 29th by 3pm. Selected households will be empowered to build and buy an affordable home in Anacortes in 2025.

Once construction is complete, families will sign an affordable mortgage with a monthly payment that’s no more than 33% of their monthly gross household income.

This is a great opportunity for hardworking families who may feel that homeownership is out of reach!

We will be selecting four qualifying applicant households for the remaining cottages being built of the eight unit project. Applications will be exclusive to this project. The available townhome units are being built in Anacortes off 29th St. near Storvik Park. Each 1,048sf unit will have 2 bedrooms and 1.5 baths and share a wall with an adjacent unit.

Construction is well under way on these homes and selected homebuyers will have an accelerated path to homeownership.

Application Process: How Does it Work?

Skagit Habitat for Humanity is targeting local households earning between 70-80% of the County’s AMI. (View our income table below)

In addition, applicants must demonstrate:

– a need for affordable housing

– a willingness to partner with Skagit Habitat and complete 150 volunteer hours with the organization

– the ability to qualify for and repay a mortgage with a monthly payment set at 33% of your household’s current gross monthly income (this includes lending requirements for work history, debt-to-income, and credit score)

If you believe you meet these qualifications, we strongly encourage you to apply! Even if you’re unsure whether you meet every requirement, we still welcome your application.

Print off an application and follow the steps on the packet, making sure that every box is checked.
